Position: Senior Backend Software Engineer
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (hybrid)
At Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), we are looking for a skilled backend software engineer to co-create high-scale services. In this role you will design, implement and optimize backend systems that power critical business applications for clients across industries.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust microservices using Java and Spring Boot, or equivalent languages.
- Collaborate with frontend, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end features.
- Improve system reliability and performance; implement tracing, monitoring, and observability.
- Participate in design reviews; write unit/integration tests; ensure code quality and security.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge with the team.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- On-call rotation for production support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-6 years of hands-on backend development experience with Java or similar languages.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, SQL and NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
