Position: Credit Analyst – Retail Banking

The role offers exposure to consumer credit products, mortgage lending, vehicle finance, and small business banking, with a clear path to progression into underwriting and relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate retail loan applications for individuals and small businesses, including personal loans, home loans, vehicle finance, and credit cards.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, cash flows, and debt service capabilities to determine creditworthiness.
- Perform risk assessment, model cash flows, and prepare underwriting recommendations aligned with SBI policies and RBI regulations.
- Collaborate with sales teams to structure credit facilities and identify risk mitigants such as collateral and covenants.
- Monitor portfolio quality, identify early signs of stress, and participate in remediation plans where needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field; MBA/PGDM or CFA is preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or retail banking.
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and lending policies.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; ability to interpret CIBIL scores and credit bureau data; familiarity with RBI guidelines; strong communication and time-management skills; customer-centric mindset with attention to risk.
