Join Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services company. We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Bengaluru delivery center. This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable backend services that power modern digital platforms for global clients. You will work in a cross-functional squad and collaborate with product, frontend, QA, and data teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java (Java 11+), Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into scalable solutions and technical roadmaps.
- Improve system performance, reliability, and security; monitor and optimize databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) on AWS.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews; contribute to engineering best practices and documentation.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of professional software development experience with backend systems.
- Strong hands-on Java expertise (Java 8/11+) and experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containers, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases; familiarity with data modeling and performance tuning.
- Good knowledge of CI/CD practices, testing strategies, and version control (Git).
