About the role

The Senior Engineer – Electronics (Embedded Systems) will contribute to the design, development, and testing of state-of-the-art electronics hardware and firmware for defence and civilian systems. The role demands hands-on technical work, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to stringent quality and security standards. You will participate in the full lifecycle from concept to verification and readiness for production, aligning with BEL’s mission to deliver reliable, mission-critical solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead hardware design for embedded systems, including digital/analog circuitry, microcontroller/microprocessor platforms, and PCB layout; ensure design for manufacturability and reliability.
  • Develop and optimize firmware in C/C++ for real-time embedded environments; integrate with RTOS and autonomously manage power, timing, and performance constraints.
  • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and validation using lab equipment; document results and ensure traceability for certifications.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, quality, and procurement teams to deliver integrated subsystems for defense programs.
  • Support field deployments, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to product roadmaps and technical documentation.

Qualifications and experience

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in electronics hardware design, embedded systems, digital/analog circuitry, and test automation.
  • Experience with PCB design tools, microcontrollers, interfacing protocols (SPI/I2C/UART), and debugging methodologies.

Desirable skills

  • Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog, Embedded C/C++, RTOS, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW, data acquisition, signal processing, and test equipment proficiency.
