Responsibilities

- Evaluate and approve/decline credit proposals within authorized limits for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with RBI guidelines and internal credit policy.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, debt service coverage ratios, and collateral valuation to determine creditworthiness.
- Prepare credit memos with clear risk assessment, recommended structures, pricing, covenants, and monitoring plans.
- Collaborate with Sales, Collections, and Risk teams to structure deals that balance business growth with risk controls.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and coordinate remedial actions for underperforming accounts.
- Contribute to process improvements, policy updates, and training for junior analysts.
- Participate in risk review meetings, present compelling risk analyses, and support audit readiness across lines of credit.
- Assist in the development of credit policies and models, incorporating Basel norms and RBI guidelines for retail and SME lending.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or related field. MBA or CA preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in credit risk assessment, retail lending, or SME lending within a banking environment.
- Strong analytical skills, financial modelling, proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (RBI), Basel norms, and internal risk policies.
- Professional certifications such as CFA/FRM are welcome but not mandatory; exposure to customer-facing credit processes is a plus. Proficiency in Hindi and English is desirable.
