NTPC Limited invites qualified professionals for the position of Senior Engineer Electrical in the Transmission and Grid Projects division. This is a full time, on site opportunity at Corporate Office Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
About the role
As part of the engineering team, you will lead electrical design and project execution for high voltage transmission lines, substations, and grid integration. You will coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure safety, compliance, and timely delivery. You will review technical drawings, protection schemes, SCADA integration, and commissioning support. You will also contribute to project cost control, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for HV transmission lines, substations, and grid interconnections.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to align schedules.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, supervise site inspections, and manage change orders.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Electrical Engineering from AICTE approved institutes.
- 5 to 9 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, power transmission, and grid projects.
- Strong knowledge of high voltage equipment, protection relays, GIS and SCADA systems is desirable.
- Experience with project management and scheduling tools, risk management, and cost control.
- Knowledge of IEC standards and Indian regulatory requirements is preferred.
Skills and attributes
Analytical mindset, strong communication, collaboration across multi disciplinary teams, and the ability to work under PSU norms. Willingness to travel to project sites and client locations as required.
