Senior Backend Engineer (Java) – Bengaluru, Karnataka
Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (Hybrid) – Infosys campus
Infosys is expanding its backend engineering practice and seeks a proactive Senior Backend Engineer to design, implement, and optimize scalable backend services that power enterprise applications for clients across industries. The role is based in Bengaluru with occasional travel for client engagements and internal initiatives. You will work with a diverse team of developers, architects, and product managers to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Java 11+ and Spring Boot
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into clean, scalable solutions
- Develop RESTful APIs, implement data models, and ensure security, reliability, and observability of services
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers
- Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes; contribute to CI/CD pipelines
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) to deploy and operate microservices at scale
- Monitor performance, investigate issues, and optimize systems to meet service level objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience accepted
- 3-6 years of software development experience with backend systems, microservices, and distributed architectures
- Strong proficiency in Java 11+, Spring Boot, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerized deployments
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment
