Infosys Limited invites applications for the role of Senior Software Engineer – Backend (Java/Spring Boot) based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This is a full-time position in the private sector at a leading Indian technology services company with a global footprint. About the role: You will join the Backend Platform team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining microservices that run in on-premises and cloud environments. You will work closely with product managers, frontend teams, data engineers, and security specialists to deliver robust, scalable, and secure software. The position offers opportunities to work with cloud-native technologies, modern CI/CD pipelines, and a culture of code quality and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
- Build well-documented RESTful APIs and ensure backward compatibility and versioning.
- Collaborate on API design, data modeling, and integration with databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Apply cloud-native patterns, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable deployments on AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and adherence to security and performance best practices.
- Investigate and resolve performance, reliability, and security issues in production systems.
- Contribute to automated testing, monitoring, and incident response processes; participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases; experience with messaging systems (Kafka) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and agile methodologies.
